Company and Position Overview
Zoellner Media Group Tulsa is looking for a dynamic Information Technology Manager to support it’s operations in a competitive media market. The IT Manager is a team member of the Tulsa Broadcast Engineering Department, supporting business office and on-air operations at the Tulsa-area studios and transmitter sites. This position is on-prem/in-person, with shared on-call duties after-hours to support our 24/7/365 broadcast operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead IT projects with enterprise standards, including the design and deployment of new systems and application services. Some systems may be virtualized on-prem or in the cloud.
- Assist in the installation, management, and upgrade of AoIP network infrastructure, services, and endpoints within the organization.
- Perform hands-on deployment and troubleshooting of local hardware and software, leveraging manufacturer and service provider resources where appropriate.
- Manage local Microsoft Active Directory, O365, IAM, and patching of all servers and endpoints.
- Maintain and verify on-prem and off-prem backup solutions for critical systems.
- Manage technical documentation of networking hardware and interconnections.
- Ensure uptime of high-availability network stack, working with managed service provider to coordinate system patching and regular review of security logs/settings.
- Assist the engineering team with maintaining on-air systems, including automation and audio/video production applications.
- Participating in special projects, including those that leverage multiple disciplines (IT, RF, Studio Engineering, A/V Production).
- Coordinate services and manage relationships of contracted managed service providers.
- Provide Tier 2 end-user support of office productivity and hardware systems.
- Contribute as a team player in weekly engineering and project management meetings, sharing ideas, engaging vendors, and improving the overall knowledge of the team.
The IT Manager should be customer-service focused, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, combined with deep knowledge of the following systems:
- Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy administration
- Fortinet network topology, switching, routing, VPN, and systems management
- VMWare on-prem virtualization maintenance, monitoring, and management
- Pure Storage network-attached storage and Veeam immutable backup solutions
- Microsoft Office 365 platform and applications management, including Teams Telephony
- Network and endpoint health monitoring using various industry standard reporting tools
- Multicast AoIP/AES67 standards and implementation within the broadcast environment
Professional Experience / Qualifications & Skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills and a positive attitude in a team environment.
- Keen analytical, technical problem-solving and decision-making skills, while under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent project management and prioritization abilities, while maintaining a customer-focused approach and calm demeanor.
- Firm grasp of IT infrastructure and operations best practices, including a working knowledge of PC hardware troubleshooting/upgrade, computer networks, security, systems administration, and data storage systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of prior experience working in IT operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
The following additional skills and experience are preferred but not required:
- FEMA contractor credential (Public Trust Moderate Risk NFC Code 5 or higher) is preferred, to assist in our support of the FEMA EAS PEP system.
- Possess a Society of Broadcast Engineer’s CBNT or CBNE-level certification, Cisco CCNA/CCNE, CompTIA A+ Certification, or FCC CRO or ARS license.
- Prior broadcast experience, including with AoIP/AES67 infrastructure, broadcast automation systems, and broadcast studio operations.
- Experience with live venue production in a technical role, including FOH audio, video, and lighting.
